If I deny a friend request on fb, can they still message me?
I recently denied a friend request from the ex and it asked me if I knew him outside of facebook and I clicked no. Can he still message me????

Yes, unless either you block him specifically, or change privacy settings to not allow messages from FB users that are not your friends.
