Can't open certain websites?

About 3 days ago I started using couple of websites that worked just fine until about yesterday. They stopped working and now every time I try to open them it gives me error message like the connection is reset. I have no idea what's wrong. Everything else works just fine. I've tried different browsers and they give me back the same feedback. I'm guessing something wrong with my network but I am kinda of newby when it comes to that? If so how can I fix this? Plz help!

Additional detail : I use mac and the certain sites I can't access are "webs" websites. I asked my friend if he could access from his computer and they work fine for him.
@kh!esh I am aware of proxy websites. While they do work, the problem is I can't log into the website under my account, it just doesn't load.

Cached pages are okay but it only shows me data from last month not the current day (which I need)

try to use proxy to open those websites or
try to use cached pages from google or
try to use no. of the website instead of its name.

When i recommend making use of http://www.vpnpower.net to help unblock internet sites. I've been with them since four years.
