What software and streaming site to use for live streaming?

Hi, At my school we do a live news brodcast, but we need to start streaming over the internet. We already have a caputure card, and all that. But I need the encoding software (i think it's called) and I need to figure out where to stream it. The computer we will be using to stream is connected to the schools better internet, which always has at least 80mbps upload and download, so bandwith shouldn't be too much of a problem. Can someone tell me what encoding software to use, and where to stream it?
