They are probably great cars when still under warranty.

High ticket cars such as this depreciate quickly. It's just a matter or economics. That doesn't mean they're not great cars. Jaguar and Cadillac values are known to drop as quickly as falling rocks. Porsche seems to be the exception to this, however.

As they age, they need expensive upkeep/maintenance. So people who have the money just replace the car instead of the parts.

Why do teens are unable to write in correct English grammar? We all have questions. For example you refused to capitalize the letters of the Bavarian Motor Werks, BMW. You failed to capitalize MSRP. You failed to use the proper contraction for the words, "I am." The contraction, like all contractions in English, require an apostrophe. "I'm" is correct. The word "origional," does not exist. I must presume you wanted the word "original." You also ran two sentences into one at the end and you failed to place a required punctuation mark at the end. You have never read a textbook, a novel, a biography, a newspaper or magazine article that fails to capitalize all sentences. "I'm really interested." That is one sentence. "Any help would be great," is another separate sentence. Why did you not write correctly? To me that is more serious that the rate of depreciation of luxury vehicles. But you have asked. All luxury vehicles have a more steep depreciation that lesser priced cars the first two years or so because of the dealer markup or profit margin. Cars also depreciate based on repair cost past the warranty, zip code or market saturation, and of course, mileage. A convertible vehicle, for example, holds more value in the southern or sunnier states or regions. I buy cars with three to four years of service. They are still in good shape and are a good price. I save a ton of money on the vehicle, the sales tax and insurance. Rather than to complain, why not take advantage of the depreciation? As to your grammar, well, if you are saying that all of your friends write that way, well, sorry, but all of your friends are incorrect. Just like bad driving leads to catastrophe, bad writing can cost you grades, acceptance to an university or employment opportunities. People that hire now check social media of applicants as as source of information as to the personality, value, skills responsibility, etc. You never know how your writing deficiencies might affect you.

Robert I understand what you're asking. Go to Bimmerfest there's a 6 series forum you can direct your question to exsperts & owners . I promise you will get the best answer from owners & exsperts. The bmw website is free and no trolls there you be ok.

The demand is low because everyone knows that the pricier Bimmers are a money pit once they get past a certain age -- usually, four years/50k miles.

It's simple supply and demand. Used car prices are based on demand and how much people are willing to pay.

Ray I find it hilarious how you wrote 341 words about how the grammar was incorrect, but couldn't even get past your own first sentence without screwing up your grammar. I hate poor grammar and poor spelling too, however I certainly don't throw stones in a glass house.

Also the contraction requires an apostrophe is correct. Not your version.
Rather than complain instead of "rather than to complain".
Acceptance to a university instead of "an university".
"social media of applicants as as source". I assume this was supposed to be as a source.

I totally agree no one knows how to write properly anymore. But coming on here and doing just as bad is no way to correct. The reasons you listed for depreciation are spot on, however. The rest of it could have been left out. After all, you never know how your writing deficiencies might affect you.
