What is appropriate pay for a first time blogger?

Although I am a first time blogger, I have been writing for years. I have a BA in English and am very knowledgeable about the art of writing. I am offered a blogging job for car dealerships at $20 a post. I feel that is too low, but like I wrote, I am new at this and am unaware of how much bloggers usually get paid .Is this good or bad? What can I expect to get paid?

that is actually pretty decent pay considering i imagine most of your posts will be on the shorter side. also you have no track record or portfolio so you cannot expect too much. if you prove yourself you can maybe ask them for more money per article. writers are a dime a dozen with sites like elance and fiverr so i think $20 is pretty fair. this will help you make a name for yourself and gain some experience and then you can start getting more per post.
