Telstra disconnected phone line, internet not working?

Does this have anything to do with it?

NOTE: My internet is with another company and it was working yesterday even though it was disconnected already for the first day.

If your internet is DSL phone line then a disconnected line will stop the broadband.

you have to have a working phone line in order to get the internet through the line.

regardless of if your phone company is different from the company you get internet off of. you need a working phone line
