How do I gain more followers on Twitter?
Right now I have about 243 but I lose a few every day and gain a few every day so the number never really increases. Its like I've hit a wall. Anyway, I run a blog about my favorite sports and a lot of people like it but I always get unfollowed by fellow fans. Im wondering what im doing wrong, i never used to lose fans just spammers. I still tweet as much, and occasionally about my life.

well in order to get a lot of twitter followers, you must be popular. Being popular can be A) You are very outgoing and you know a lot of friends in your life or B) you are very popular on the web, whether that may be your blog, youtube, commentaries, reviewing movies, books, games, etc. or you make great music virally!

Yes, these things happen as there are people out there who are into the following-unfollowing game. Let me explain more. They follow you for the hope of you following them back ...and when you do, they unfollow you. For them, it's all a number's game - of increasing their popularity. What's your goal in using Twitter? If you ask me, I'd rather have a few, but engaged followers than thousands to millions of faceless folks. I want people who care for my stuff and for this, you simply have to listen and engage to your tweeps as if you would converse with them in the real world. I've found this hilarious video on how people unknowingly sabotage their online relationships - to explain my point further. Enjoy!
