EBay Flipping Category: Big & Tall Good Idea?
Hey question for you knowledgable people.
I often hear from ebay enthuiasts that stick to selling products you know you can sell. On several occasions I found 3x and 4x for men. WSU polos and UH long sleeves from Ross. Can I realistically speacialize in plus size clothing sales???? Ads |

Absolutely you can. I specialize in large to plus size women's clothing.
The thing about men's clothing is it weighs more and thus is more expensive to ship. A 3X cotton polo would probably weigh more than 2 pounds and it wouldn't fit in a flat-rate padded envelope, so it would cost $6 to $10 just to ship. That's cost-prohibitive in most cases. Also, I didn't have much success selling men's polos. I think far fewer men than women buy clothes online, and when they do, they're far less likely to buy used clothes than women. In my "market research" I asked my brother what he does when he wants a new shirt. He said he just goes to Kohl's and buys whatever fits, and that's probably typical. The only polos I found I could sell were like-new Nike moisture-wicking shirts, and anything by Under Armor. But I could find them so rarely that I've long since quit looking. Ads |

If you can bring in a good constant supply. The extra large sizes always sell well. It's getting that constant supply that's hard.

Such hard to find specialty products should probably not be discounted to Ebay levels.
I don't know that ebay sellers have much customer loyalty, but a niche business site that also offers advice in articles that would attract search ranking and visitors might develop a loyal following and be able to charge a more near to premium price. Of course you can do both, Ebay sellers routine have their own sites as well. |
