Why will my windows 8 not connect to the internet?

i cant connect to anything through my web browsers and things like windows update and the apps, i CAN connect to garrys mod and every now and then i can download addons in-game from workshop, i can also connect to team speak servers and people can join my servers but thats about it, i.e. when i open the web browser it says "the page couldn't be displayed" (internet explorer) and "unable to connect" (firefox). i cant connect to any apps or websites,

if you know whats wrong, thanks in advance.
oh yeah one more thing, EVERYTHING else can connect to the internet, it only my pc

First you can check network cable connection is showing on your PC.
If yes then you can check it IP conflict. Just type Network and Sharing Center on search box click on it.
Now you are able to see your network click on it and go through this.
Properties>>Select IP Version 4 and click Properties>>Now you can change IP which are now used by any devices in your Home. Then click on OK.
