How To Advertise Myself as a Professional Pianist?
I play piano, and I'd like to start playing at luncheons, receptions, etc. and hopefully build the experience and contacts to eventually become famous. How do I advertise myself?

I assume getting a talent agent would be of great assistance, it may pay to get yourself known to local party planners and suppliers with flyers and business cards. Create a youtube demonstration video that people may stumble across and that you can place on free social site pages like Facebook.

Self serve paid internet advertising like Google Adwords or Facebook ads can be targeted to only be seen by those within driving distance, you pay a premium price for Adwords ads but can get qualified prospects looking for things like "party entertainment" you can get a custom domain name for about $10/yr that can be used on a free host like Google's Blogger for your online business card that to which ads would send people.

Huge gulf between being able to play the piano and being a professional musician. At minimum you need to have reputable credentials (music school) before anyone would be interested in being your agent or promote you, and those connections will provide your entry point for starting a career.

Being a professional musician is quite a small world, its not like selling a consumer product where you need to advertise. You may find opportunities to teach other how to play (mostly begineers), then you could advertise to reach those people, but that doesn't sound like something you want to do. You alos need to be realistic in what you want - how many famous piano players do you know?
