Why so many stupid ads?

All of a sudden yahoo and facebook has more stupid ads flashing and distracting from the news items.I am very serious about closing both.There is more ads on here than on tv any more. I hate it

Try an adblocker for your browser.
These companies needs to cover their expenses somehow. It is not free to run servers, pay employees etc.

I will also recommend ghostery, that stops most pages trackers(that keeps track of which pages you visit/adds you click).

As these Social Media sites continue to grow more new people come on and buy their advertising in order to increase their sales. Of course these sites are happy to sell them their advertising to make more money themselves. It is sort of a self replicating vicious cycle. One thing you can be sure of is they are not going to reduce any of this advertising.
