How do I get more people to my website?

Hey guys, I have this new website that I am going to blog about gaming and potentially grow my site.

But how do I get more people to view it?

There is amazon links that people can use, and I will be blogging about my gaming experience, writing reviews on new upcoming tech and even doing videos on different games and their gameplay!

The blog will help increase the relevancy in the search engines, if you have web content that is rich in common keywords and keyword phrases (use google keyword tool to help with this), you are more likely to appear in the search engine results when someone searches for terms that are discussed on your website. The blog will provide quality links, but you should also promote your site. Go to social media sites and promote it to your friends, and other pages/blogs/etc that are relevant to what you will be discussing on your site.

Also, make sure you have an xml site map. This is a great starting point, reading search engine optimization blogs/podcasts/articles/etc that are out there will also give you some great pointers.

Hi Matt, interesting question. You could link your FaceBook, YouTube and Twitter accounts together. Then create a few gaming pages on HubPages and Squidoo and link them to the other 3 accounts. Linking social media and web 2.0 properties together can generate many important links which will put your posts for specific relevant gaming keywords at the top of search engines results very quickly, perhaps as quick as a few months time.

You can also make videos on YouTube and embed them outside YouTube (say on your own website or blog for instance) as embedded videos linking back to YouTube drive that particular video higher in the YouTube search results for a particular keyword i.e; top gaming releases.

All the major search engines normally include a video in the top results for any given keyword, and it's normally a YouTube video. And more views equals more traffic/visitors to your site. Don't forget to include a link to the main page of your website directly below each YouTube video.

You are already doing extremely well using the Amazon site to promote your gaming site as this is an authority site and that's the type of site that always gets a mention in the search engine results. And Amazon do a lot of promoting for you if your trying to sell their products i.e; games, games consoles, etc.

Find all the top sites for gaming and try leaving a few comments especially about the latest releases and provide good content which is interesting and gets people excited. Good content rarely gets disapproved in the comment section of major sites. And if you are intending to write your own web copy (content) then check out a book by Maria Veloso called Web Copy That Sells.
