Yes, indeed, it is a setup for a scam.
The clues are these: 1. he 'plays your heartstrings' with the story about buying it for his son (usually the son is dying, not in school). 2. he mentions Africa 3. he wants to use some unusual method of dealing 4. he wants you to give him information 5. he mentions God This is actually the setup for the scam. If you bite, what will follow is repeated 'problems' in getting the deal completed. Each time you will be asked to give something else. In the end, he will have money from you, plus information about your PayPal account. Do not contact him back! Ads |

Sure is. Ignore it. He will send funds. You will send ipod. Then he;ll file a dispute at Paypal and your money will be gone, along with your ipod

They send these all the time, it's a type of phishing email.
Just ignore it and delete it. Nothing to worry about, they cannot do anything. I would never send things overseas. I sell on ebay, but only sell to the US market, I used to send to some european countries, never got scammed, but those customers seem difficult to deal with if there is an issue and they don't want to pay the shipping to send it back. Only sell within the USA and you should be fine. |
