Why does South Park and Canadian shows use actual names for stuff?
Shows like iCarly or Wizards of Waverly Place use fake names for stuff like Facebook or iPods, like PearPhones and stuff, but I noticed a Canadian show actually used the name YouTube and iPod. It was a show on Disney called My Babysitters' a vampire.
south park also uses real names...like Facebook. why? Ads |

South Park is show that heavily uses parody as a comedic device. They don't care about licensing and advertising on the show for particular products.
iCarly or Wizards is a corporate Disney venture who would not pay to promote products that aren't theirs. Ads |
