3. Today, the movement is primarily a battle against gender-role conditioning and heterosexism, workplace discrimination, objectification, sexualization and misrepresentation in the media, slut-shaming, et cetera, and focuses on improving reproductive health, economic justice, and social freedom. The general ideas are alike to those of 50 years -- equal treatment, equal rights, and equal opportunity -- and previously unaddressed or under-addressed issues are becoming highlighted, and increasingly intertwined with the LGBT movement, as older problems are resolved. Modern feminists and social workers simply seek to see through what 1st and 2nd wave feminism started as well as make sure that these freedoms last.

4. Ignorance

5. Men have increasingly been participating in the movement for gender equality alongside women and gender minorities in modern times. Throughout history, there were many famous proponents who were biologically male, such as abolitionist Frederick Douglass, and they contribute in the same way that biologically female feminists do. Society is much more enlightened than it used to be, so the numbers are growing.
