How to clear website search history?
So on a few websites where you can search television shows or movies, the search history i guess is getting very clogged up and is beginning to bother me.

For example if I'm trying to search a tv show or movie starting with E, it will produce a popdown menu showing every search I've made beginning with an E.

How can I erase this history

The browser I'm using is Safari on a Macbook Pro

Safari Version 7.0.1 (9537.73.11)

You just need to remove history. To do this
Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose History > Clear History, and then click Clear.
To clear Top Sites as well as your history list, select “Also reset Top Sites.” The Top Sites page is based on your browsing history.

Other things that you can do

Clear individual items from the history list

Open Safari if it is not already open.
Click the open-book icon in the bookmarks bar.
Bookmark list button
Click History in the Collections list on the left.
Select the items you want to clear in the list of bookmarks on the right, and then press the Delete key.
If you can’t see the list of bookmarks on the right because Cover Flow view is covering it, drag up on the handle below the Cover Flow scroll bar.

Clear individual items automatically after a period of time

Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click General.
Choose an option from the “Remove history items” pop-up menu.
