Why some blogs allow anonymous comments?
Why do some blogs allow anonymous comments and others have their settings to maximum requiring sign in. I often type my comment expressing my views *I am not usually biased* only to find *Please Login to comment* then if I do login I usually have to type my comment all over again and the second time around it's usually not as good because my fingers are sore. Sad

Anybody else find that annoying on blogs? I have a WordPress account for some political blogs and I can see why some would disable anonymous comments but I have found that blogs that allow *Name/Email* tend to have pretty decent comments with a few spam bots but usually nothing severe.

Several blogs come to mind such as the Google Blogs where you can't even use WordPress to type a comment and as a result comments are usually 2-4 per article and it makes me wonder what the owner wants out of it as the owner never replies to the comments anyways such as if somebody has a question not found on Google Help Forums *which are a complete joke by the way*

Does anybody else find it annoying when blog owners don't allow popular sign in forms and instead insists on a weird third party one like Movable Type or OpenID which hardly anybody has?

Sorry if I worded it wrong but I cannot think of how else to word my frustrations. I have Autism and don't figure out how to word feelings very well.
Often times I just want to thank the author for the article without commenting anything or add some points he or she may have missed in order to add to the discussion especially if it's about the New World Order which takes too long to get into here.
Furthermore there is no way to personally email the author my thanks if it's a very moving article.

appreciable!! you pointed out.

Some Blogs allow anonymous comments as it is obvious that they want to know the views on their updates by the visitors.
It may be the reason that not all the people have their account on which the comments lying or second it is also possible they(bloggers) think that some people don`t prefer to publicize themselves that`s why they avoid commenting.
So, Anonymous comments helps them to share their views.

Yeah! yeah! it also have disadvantages, As it may increase spams. Also, the bloggers didn`t come to know about the commenter.

As It may be good for some bloggers or also antonym possible.

But it`s all depends on the choices of different bloggers.

Your last points are really appreciable as you want to add some missing points.

Anonymous comments these days are often spam these days. People generally pitch their fake names and fake emails and website urls to fetch a link.

There exist really few people like you and many other genuine ones who thank the author or say something more about the topic being discussed, In fact, some or the most others, leave replies or comments like "thank you", "great article" in spite of having those sign ups and additional tactics.

The best way to stop spam is to approve them before getting published. I follow this strategy on my blogs. It depends on blogger to do what pains the visitors in the commenting tribe,
