Is it possible to get fiber optic internet in the U.S.?
If I am not correct, it's only available in select areas. Will it ever be available in the U.S. in a broad spectrum? I heard it is cheaper and way faster. Just a pipe dream haha, but I'd still like to know!

yes it is in the US
most major ISP's offer it but it is much more expensive than regular DSL you are thinking of google fiber which is only in a few large cities Ads |

I see you already selected an answer, but the answer is not that simple. It depends on your individual ISPs and whether or not they wish to install fiber. It is very expensive to install and as such it is not available in many places. Verizon is the only large ISP to have rolled it out on large scale.
