What account does eBay charge If you have money in your PayPal account ?

Hey,

I've recently joined eBay. I'm slightly confused about the payment methods. My girlfriend doesn't use her PayPal account so the balance is 0, but she has it connected and says that it's used as a sort of middle man between her bank and the purchase. I do use my PayPal account and although I would like the security of that middle man, I want to be charged to my bank not the balance in my PayPal account.

If someone could explain to me how this works that'd be great! so far I have my PayPal account linked to my eBay account, but that is all.

When I buy something online (ebay or other), I use paypal even though the balance is $0. I have my bank card linked to paypal because I have sold thing before and used paypal to receive the money. If you card is connected to paypal, it will come from your card, through paypal.
