I keep seeing disgusting inappropriate ads on websites that are supposed to be clean?
So I was just searching online on Goodreads.com and TheTopTens.com and when I looked down the list I saw ads that said "Ads not by this site" and it was for Brazzers that had a girl sucking on a guys 'you know what' and it said "Eat the candy" and then another time I saw an ad by the SAME people that had two girls making out NAKED their butts hanging out and they were squeezing each other breasts and ANOTHER Brazzer ad had a girl with her finger up her vigina and she was digging in it and goo was squirting out and it read "She's gonna squirt!" and ANOTHER where this girl was doing yoga then this guy who's naked comes up and she stares at his "nut" and he shoves it in her mouth and she starts chewing on it and look pleased! So now these Brazzer ads are making me feel uncomfortable and I'm only 14 and I'm afraid my mom will see the ads and I will get in trouble...

HELP!!!!! I LOVE going onto goodreads to look at the books but I'm afraid to go back onto it knowing they'res disgusting PORN ads...

Lol xD Installing an AdBlocker on your internet browser should solve that problem. If you are using Chrome, look up for the AdBlocker on their Chrome download sites. The same goes if you're using Firefox. Install an add-ons and it's solved. That's what I did to get rid of those stupid ads.^^

I would suggest running some sort of anti-malware software on your machine as it sounds like your computer is infected. Malwarebytes do a free product called Anti-Malware - id download this and run a scan to see what it finds.

Slightly disturbing description btw, I don't think Yahoo users need a breakdown of what you're seeing, 'inappropriate adverts' would have probably been sufficient!

It is illegal to show porn to minors. You should be honest and tell your mom. Since you didn't click it, she should be happy that you are honest and telling her rather than hiding it. Your mom might better know how to take necessary (possibly legal) action to resolve the issue with the negligent owner of the site you are visiting.

There might be some reason they are showing you porn, for example, keywords that you or someone else might have put into a search engine (that is, if you search for 'muscle cars' they will show you ads of cars), or maybe you are logged into the account of an adult. You can report the inappropriate ad by contacting the web site you're currently on. There should be a 'contact us' link at the bottom. They have standards that they are supposed to maintain, by both their own reputation and by the law.

Giving you more options, you could install an ad blocker, but you don't really need any ad blockers. Many times they will install more garbage on your computer, like a toolbar that you don't even want. In my opinion the best way to block ads is to edit the host file. Try this: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

That prevents a list of malicious/annoying web sites from showing up on your computer. I love it - it even skips over YouTube and Hulu video commercials.

As they said: "ads not by this site." Which means that the ad provider is basing the choice of what ads you get on your browsing history.

So we now know what you've been looking at when you weren't at Goodreads.
