You can submit your site in yahoo or google or most of other search engines for free. This will help the search engines know about the existence of your website and will be indexed for search results.

If your site is a newbie then you can add them to search engines, just google you will find searchengine submission tools, though you even submitted, it is not sure to say they will be indexed. Even if you haven't submitted, your site will be indexed with a matter of time

Just type your website address in the Google search box. If Google knows about your site, it will tell you. If your website doesn’t come up as a result, you need to submit your site to Google.You do not need a seo to submit your site to Google, Yahoo or Bing. You don’t pay to get into any of the big search engines natural (free or organic) listings (and note, Bing powers Yahoo results).

Submit your URL to Google:

Just post it in signature of couple of popular forums or in profiles of social media sites like Facebook or Twitter and you will get it visited by all search engines.

But make sure to add your site to Google Webmaster tools.
