Facebook likes question? o.o?

I've gotten on facebook and a few times have seen where certain people had close to 300 likes and most of the likes were from other people around the world.
My curiosity is getting the best of me, so I was wondering what in the world was going on. :b

Well likes are different than friends. If you are talking about a Fan page then often people are promoting themselves via other websites, their business, music etc. Depends on what the goal of the page is. Also fan pages can be advertised through out facebook which costs money.

If you mean friends on your own facebook profile then you need to get off the internet and start socializing in real life!
