How do people get so many views on there ebay products?
I'm going to start selling on ebay, amazon, and other platforms soon and I was wondering how people get lots of their views on their eBay listings. I saw one in the category I want to sell in and it had 3000 views an hour! And sold over 300 units (they were $600 laptops) in the past 24 hours that comes out to a little over 60k in sales in one day. Now I don't need that many views now but when I start out I would like about 10-20 views an hour with a conversion rate of at least 1-2%. How can I get this many views an hour?
I'm going to use fixed price.

No matter what you do, you won't. If you're not willing to start small and work your way up, don't sell on eBay.

Top-Rated Sellers get a boost in Best Match, which means their listings get the most exposure. Newbies are dead last.

Keep in mind that fewer and fewer people are willing to bid anymore -- if they see something they want, they want to buy it and be done with it. That means that out of all of eBay's millions of registered users, you only need one person to buy your item. So it doesn't matter how many views you get per hour, as long as you get one buyer before the auction ends.

eBay will give you options to promote your products and put on front page for an extra fee.

When the really good deals comes along, sites like fatwallet.com and slickdeals.net will direct people to the page. They can sell thousands of items in an hour. Check Adorama on eBay.
Some sellers also advertise themselves on other sites to direct traffic.

You are going to get hits 2 main ways, first is you have to have the lowest price. Second is you have to have a flawless customer satisfaction rating. If you sell 10 computers and have 1 customer go negative on you, that's 90% satisfaction and you are done. Someone who has sold 100 computers and gets 1 negative gets 99% satisfaction and they are going to get the sale. You have an uphill climb.

You have to learn how to rank high in eBay search rankings. Which means you have to think like eBay. What ebay wants is to make as much money as it possibly can.

This results in sellers with a combination of the lowest prices and highest buyer satisfaction ratings getting a boost to the top of the charts.

If your rating isn't high you have to charge less until you build your profile if you want a lot of traffic. Your goal should be to become a Top Rated Seller with a100% feedback rating.

The article below breaks it down piece by piece if you need the details.

Nordstrom's is backing Etsy now so you may want to look at Etsy as another platform to sell items on.
