How can I make it so facebook notifies me of updates on a pages picture, status, etc.?

When I'm on my facebook page - or my profile for that matter - if I comment on another page's status or picture, etc., it doesn't notify me if other people comment on it, like my comment, etc. How can I make it so it does? It annoys me because someone might ask a question, and I don't notice until a month later. Ten points for fastest helpful answer!

On your news feed page click on the arrow drop down on the top right of the page next to your name and Home and choose Account Settings.
On the list on the left click on Notifications.
Scroll down to the section "All notifications" and edit the ones you want. Make sure you tick the ones you want to be notified of, and click Save when you're done.
