Now Google don't support Geo Sitemaps anymore, what is the alternative?

Hi There,

I used to build Geo Sitemaps for my local clients but now Google has retired support for the Geo Sitemaps format. I don't know why.

What is the alternative now? I did read you can put geo locations in a current sitemap but I have no idea how to do that. Can anyone pass on any advice please as to what is the best alternative of Geositemaps for local search please?

explains how to create the KML content. Add attribution tags, which will appear in the Google Search results for your content...
