Can internet providers track torrents?

I recently read that companies like at&t can track p2p filesharing to find pirated software. I'm kind of worried because I have like a million pirated games and operating systems as well as numerous copies of word 2010 and 2013.

They can track anything you do on your internet, including torrents.

However, they have millions of customers and the chances of them finding out you are downloading torrents are slim to none. You're safe.

Yes, they can see what you are torrenting, but hardly do they ever say anything about computer software. That being said, if the maker (Activision, Treyarch for example) of the game/movie/music sees you are downloading the torrent, they notify the ISP's and then they notify you telling you to stop. You should constantly check your email from your internet provider (for example: @comcast.net) to see if they have sent you some copyright infringement notices.

Yes. They are required to keep logs of all your activities. If the owners of the material you have stolen wish to prosecute you they can have a court order the ISP to release the details of your account (name and address) and the logs detailing all the connections you made to perpetrate your crimes.
