Why does my neighbor have broadband internet but I don't?

I live in a medium size town in Virginia, about 180,000 people. Well my neighbor lives literally 50 yards away from me and can get broadband internet, but I can't. The people in my neighborhood that live near the bottom can get verizon fios. Like were the only people that can't get broadband. My parents say that they asked every broadband company and in my town we have like 10 so I doubt that. Pulse we our house phones our verizon so doesn't that mean we can get their broadband or fios. Please help. I mean we have hughes net and it's terrible. Plus me and my brothers love to game online but we can't cause of the slow internet connection.

Ask Verizon yourself about this. Something about this doesn't make any sense. Do you have Clear Wire (Clear) in your area. How about ComCast.
