Ebay return shippping question?

Do I have to wait for the seller to give me my refund or do I ship the item that I bought and then get a refund? I just want to make sure.
The seller said to ship the item first, then I'll get my refund. I thought I was supposed to get a refund first.... He said that I have to ship the item first because of Ebay's buyer/seller protection thing...

I would let them refund you first so that you make sure 1.they don't keep both the product and your money and 2.so you don't pay the shipping

you need to send the item back before you get a refund.

usually it's only the amount you paid for the item that is refunded, you don't get the postage costs that you paid for them to send it or the costs of you send it to them back.

it's a good idea to send a 'recorded' type delivery, this way you have the items weight on the recipt and proof that they got it.

If you want to return something you bought at a store, do you cal them and tell them to refund you BEFORE you take the item back? Jeezus Pete.

You cant get a refund until the seller gets the item back.
