Is 10gb home internet enough?
So, I've been getting mixed answers so I would really appreciate some help.
Here's the bottom line:
I'm going to be renting a room from someone who does not have internet.
I am a gamer, and a full time student.
My Girlfriend is also a gamer and a full time student.
We game for at least 3 hours a day (6-8 hrs a day on weekends) (not always playing online but our Xbox is connected to live).
We also go to bed watching netflix through xbox.
She frequents facebook.
I like to torrent (but i can easily stop. haha).
We have an xbox, a wii, 2 phones (can easily rely on 4g instead), 2 laptops, and a tablet.
Will 10 gigs be enough for us, or will we be paying overages?
There is another plan for 15gb but its much more expensive.
Any help would be simply amazing!
-Thanks in advance,
SJL
There is also bonus data of 10gb but the "bonus" only applies to use of data between 2am and 8am which most of the time we are sleeping then or getting ready to go to class so not much internet usage then.
sorry, i wasn't clear. the 10gb a month IS a home plan. we live in a rural area unfortunately and that's why this is all that's available but thank you for your answers!

No, both of you using the connection with all the services and especially Netflix will eat the data fast. XBOX Live uses an average of about 40MB an hr per account and Netflix will use 100's of MB's just for a 30 min TV show and maybe up to a GB for movies. Also tethering from a phone for gaming is terrible, even if you had LTE internet, it's that cell phone internet connections don't have an open NAT that you need for gaming and even if you had 100mbps cell connection, your games will lag terribly because of the closed NAT of cell phone internet connections. You would be better off getting a home internet service for even cheaper than cell phone connections and only order 1 internet modem for your use.
