How much should i pay to have a website created?
I am having a website made for my business as part of a package advertising deal with my local TV station. The tv side was very competitive but I am being charged 3,600 for the website and I feel that's a little high but really have no knowledge or experience in this field.

The website will be fully compatitble with mobile devices and tablets, will be linked to all of our social networks as well.

Any advice would be appreciated. I will pick a best answer.

Hard to answer this question since I don't know what your website entails. Does it have a large database that needs to be managed,, shopping cards, e-commers components, security features, etc?

If it does, the price is very good, because creating a website like that will entail a lot of programming.testing , debugging, etc.

I am a web designer and I can say that just standard linking to social media websites is a fairly simple think to do. Responsive design - what you describe as the ability to shrink and expand according to the device while displaying the contend effectively is also a fairly simple thing to do - any capable web designer can do that.

If you think you have been overcharged for this job, shop around a little. Collect estimates from several web designers and go with the best price. There is no shortage of web designers in my area, and the best think about them , well they are on the WEB.

Good luck!

Christina is right. You really haven't given enough information about what your site requires to give you an idea of what's expensive or not.

The responsive design part shouldn't raise the price that much, it's the back end things that are going to be more expensive.

Also, does the price you were quoted include hosting and maintenance?

It depends on what features your website is and how complex it is. You could get it much, much cheaper with ultimatewb and that has a lot of features, top quality. But every company is different.

My cousin had a website designed by thegoodproblems.com last year. Prices are definitely a lot lower than what I've seen and her site looks awesome. I was supposed to get one too but I've been making so much without a website I don't feel it's needed right now. For what I wanted they gave me a quote of $160 though. Really hope this helps you and good luck with your business. :-)
