How to email photos from Canon T3i to self?
I have the photos on my laptop using the Canon Digital Photo Professional... They're all RAW. I'm just wondering, how do I email them to myself from this?
They won't save to a regular file on my laptop so I can't seem to figure how I can send them to myself to upload to my social media.
This may be a stupid question, I'm sorry. I purchased this camera in January and just started using it, as the weather is just now starting to get warm.
Also, if there is an easier way to do all this next time, please let me know. Any tips would be greatly appreciated !!

You'll need to convert them from RAW to JPEG first, which should be something you can do with the software which came with your camera. RAW is generally not a format which you can "see" online other than with software like Canon DPP, which is probably why you can't see them anywhere else.

Once you convert them to JPEG, save them to your computer. From there it should be easy to send to yourself, as a mail attachment. Be aware that most mail providers (Google, Yahoo etc) have a size limit on attachments, so if your photo is too big you won't be able to send it to yourself. If this happens, save it again but at a smaller size (most photo software will let you save your RAW files at different sizes).

EDIT: Yes, Jeannie's right. That should be "save your JPEG files at different sizes". I haven't had any coffee yet today :-)

I think Mark means "most photo software will let you save your JPG files at different sizes". You seriously do not want to change the size of a RAW file.

You can already send the raw files anywhere you want. But unlike JPEG, most computers do not have an image codec for viewing raw format files. The codec you need can be installed from the software disc that came with your camera.

You can download Canon ZoomBrowser or ImageBrowser from here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/co...ndSoftware
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/pr...ndSoftware

Here are two other programs you can download right away to help manage your raw files:
Adobe DNG converter http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/p...moid=HTENB
Irfanview http://www.irfanview.com/

IrfanView will need an additional plugin for CRW/CR2 files:
http://www.irfanview.info/plugins/canon_crw.zip

All of these programs can convert your raw format files to JPEG, or DNG for image editors.

Your camera came with instructions on how to use the DPP software. I have a feeling you have spent no time with it.

After you make any adjustments to your RAW file, you can go to File - Convert and Save. A box will come up where you can select which format to convert to, (typically Jpeg), and to where you want to save the photos, (a folder on your computer).

That is the most basic answer to your question. You really need to spend time studying the software user guide on CD that comes with your camera.

Of course, you can always set the camera to shoot in Jpeg instead of RAW if "easy" is your priority over quality.
