How do you get kik to notify you when youre not on the app?

How do you get kik to notify you when youre not on the app?
It only notifys me when im acrually on the app, i wanna get notified when im not on the app, so thats what im asking

Settings > Notification Center, scroll until you find kik > On, Banners, Sounds and show on lockscreen.
