How do I schedule a Tumblr post for midnight?
I want to make a post that will appear on New Years day at midnight. How would I do that?

Thanks.
I understand that, but is midnight considered 1/1/14 12:00 am or 12/31/13 12:00 am?

When you create a new post in Tumblr, click the arrow next to "Publish" and choose "Publish on..." from the menu.

In the field below, enter the time you'd like to publish the post.

You can use relative date and time (e.g. "next Monday, 1 pm")

You can use absolute date and times (e.g. "mm/dd/yy 12:00 am" or "mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 a.m.")

Click "Schedule post."

Scenario: It’s 11 p.m. I’ve written something for my Tumblr, but decide that I’d rather save it to be posted tomorrow since I know that most folks are asleep.

So I click the “Publish Now” dropdown and change it to “Publish on…” which automatically fills in “next tuesday, 10am” but today is Wednesday, so waiting until Tuesday seems like a bit much.

"10am" sounds good, though, so I change it to say "10am" and then click "Schedule Post".

At which point, Tumblr will publish it automatically, and back-date it to 10am this morning.

I can’t think of any useful scenario where I would actually want to back-date a post to earlier today, but that’s what Tumblr assumes.

Workaround: Always use the time and day that you want to publish your post. Don’t assume Tumblr will “do the right thing” (unless, I suppose, it’s after midnight and you want to schedule something for later that same day).

you would do 1/1/14 12:00am because that is when the day starts. the second it's midnight, the day changes to the next one (new years'). if you did 12/31/13 12:00am it would post basically in the beginning of the 31st Smile
