Can I redirect my current wordpress blog to another domain/blog?
I have been having some issue with my main domains directory (errors, 404 issues, etc.) I called my web hosting company several time and they seem to have no clue why I'm having so many issues. I have other add on domains and they work fine.

I was wondering if I could start over on a new domain. I hate to do this because I have been working on my blog for 2 years but I feel like I have no other option.

What I want to know is, Could I buy a new domain & just redirect my current domain name to the new domain name without SEO issues or anything.

For example: my blog url is http://www.newdomainname.com.

I would also add the same content and posts that are on my current domain. Would this cause a duplicate content issue?

Please help! I really want to save my blog, my Alexa rank is now in the 18,000,000 and last year I was in the top 100,000.

First thing you need to do is change the message on your 404 ....so that it can link people back to the main page.

Second thing check your permalinks as this can be a problem....have you recently moved things?

Third..did you buy spammed links to achieve your ranking? Google penguin and panda slapped out those practices and you get penalised harshly.

Fourth.. Are you adding regularly content that is being shared through social media as the new algorithm is counting this highly. You can improve this by syndicating with a service like http://tribepro.com?afid=7806ca0f-8feb-4ab4-ad50-79e228a4c5fc and link it to onlywire. works best with paid accounts but you use it free.

Lastly it is possible to redirect but that leaves you with more chances for bugs..and will slow down your site slightly and then greatly over time

You may want to check if google has penalized you also..because that is a large downgrade

You can do a 301 redirect. You should try it from a social media page and this can get you more visitors and readers.
