internet problems?

My new windows 8.1 computer will not connect to the internet properly. It refuses to stay connected for any length of time. Considerably slows the connection down. and if I play any games or really start anything from the desktop it will disconnect from the internet and lose any ability to find the networks until I restart it. It's state seems to be deteriorating quickly and it's really starting to piss me off. I've spent ours changing the settings But I've only seemed to have fucked it up more. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that your router isn't in some sort of panic mode where it keeps restarting. Wipe your computer after backing everything up and maybe that will help. Make sure your password is right. There are so many things you could do.
