Can my tutor follow me on Twitter, is it legal?

I'm a full-time student at college and my tutor follows me on twitter, I was just wondering if it's legal since it's a social networking site?

I don't think it is legal, my tutors have said teachers should not contact students on social networking sites..

Of course if you are friends with them outside of college, that is perfectly fine.

Yes, it's perfectly legal. As long as he/she doesn't send stuff like stalker-ish messages or sex related things. Then you probably need to tell someone. I hope I helped you.

Why wouldn't it be legal? Like you said, it's a social networking site which is public. When you make a profile on any social networking site you can't expect privacy or to stay "hidden". Most of your informations are public and anyone can follow you or add you unless you block them or something like that. But no, it's not illegal to follow anyone.
