How to stop people from finding me on twitter?

I have a fan account on twitter and I have mutuals with a few of my close friends on it. I literally have no information about myself on it, but a few of my other friends who I don't want to find my account can find me through their accounts. I don't want to protect my tweets or create a new account or anything, so is there anyway I can hide my account from them?

you can either block people you know from school (that's what i did) or make it private and people who follow you, must be approved by you. the annoying thing about that is that people can't retweet you, therefore its hard to gain followers

or you may want to unfollow your friends, because it's for the best
