Samsung Galaxy s4 camera quality help?

I'm just trying to figure out something with the camera quality of the samsung galaxy s4. It really bothers me when I try to take a picture of myself or me with my relatives (using the face front camera/camera where the screen is) and it's not that great. It comes off a bit soft and not high-def. But when people use their iPhone 5's and they use the front camera it suddenly looks so much clearer and high-def. It confuses me because the Samsung Galaxy s4 has 2 megapixels for the face fronting camera while the iPhone only has 1.2 megapixels. Do they use certain apps to make it clearer? "high definition is a term only used for video" k.. I understand but I know you guys get what I mean when I say the pictures like "high-def" meaning not that blurry/soft but very very clear. And telling me to use a camera instead of my phone... I do not have an actual camera that is why I use my phone...

High definition is a video resolution term only. It has nothing to do with how clear a still photo is.

If you want decent photos, use a camera instead of a phone.

Now you know why all over the world phone cameras (if you can call them cameras) are thought of as junk. If you want real photos, buy a real camera.

I'm sure Galaxy devices do have a built in photo editor, tap the menu button and scroll down. If you're not satisfied with the front camera, you could always use the back camera, make sure to experiment with the different camera modes such as low light, portrait, landscape, HDR, and such, prevent shaking the camera and try to get the best lighting possible for clear pictures.

IT's all about user skill. Pciture quality, clarity and all depend on how you use the camera. It's not the camera (or phone in this case). It's you.
