Can't connect to internet!?
Hello, recently my computer goes into sleep mode and looses wired internet connection, and when i turn it off and back on it still doesn't have the wired internet connection. Sometimes after restarting repeated times it will randomly work or if all else fails system restore does the job and will get it to work.
This is really starting to annoy me because while my computer doesn't work my other ones do fine. I have avast and malewarebites for virus scans and prevention. I really feel like something is blocking my wired internet connection but i have no clue what it might be.

If anyone might know how to fix this it would mean the world to me. Thanks so much in advance!

Try a full restart. Sometimes Windows just seems to drop a bit or two and the best way to reset the system is a full restart.

I know it's a cliche, but it really does work sometimes.

Please understand, Internet connection problem and computer goes to sleep mode/computer problem are two different things.
You got to make sure first if your computer is working fine.
1. Delete internet browser's history and cookies then restart computer.
2. Update, Windows, (are you using windows 8), Browser, Adobe Flash player, Java.
3. Update Avast virus soft and Malewarebites malware soft as well.
4. Make sure your computer is not in SLEEP MODE. If you keep pressing the OFF button few seconds it might recover.
5. Check if your Lan cable(if any) Modem cable (if any) electric cable are properly connected or better remove and reconnect. Make sure cables are not tangled. Better be straight. Hope you are not using Wifi.

Now, for temporary turn of Avast and restart computer. Did it connect with the Internet? You can also confirm via control panel or look at the task tray below where there is a Time, Speaker and Internet connection mark is displaying. If you put cursor on Internet connection mark you will know the status.

If you still face problem in that case confirm if your Browser is not Hijacked, check the url is it same or different next run virus software for full scan. Some times virus do create problem. Usually after using system restore computer should work without problem.
