There are webs that give free copyright protection. Are these webs scam and what they gain from this service?

Any original work is always automatically protected by copyright and it's free.

They are a 'sort of' scam .... the moment you create your work it has Copyright protection, however in case of a dispute you will have to establish the creation date & the fact it was you ...

It most cases, to prove the date this means you have to 'publish' your work in some way - for example,
... place it on any public accessible web site under your own name & that will be enough to establish date + as 'yours'.

So a 'copyright site' is one possible choice = however there are cheaper approaches - for example, you could place copies of the work in a sealed envelope & send it via the public mail service to yourself (to get a postmark date) & keep the envelope sealed so you can produce it in Court in the event of a dispute ..


There are many other 'scams' awaiting the gullible .. for example, 'publish your own book' and 'buy your own Star / comet' or even 'buy land on Moon / Mars / Jupiter etc' ..
