SO, why does Internet Explorer suck so bad?

I am one of THOSE people who still automatically clicks IE, I do use Firefox or Google Chrome as well but IE is that "homey" place I accidentally find myself often.

Recently, it just doesn't work. If I have more than 1 tab open or a Flash Player, nothing works. Or it locks up.

I do scan my laptop regularly but not sure if this is a system thing or an IE thing. I don't mind never using it again...just trying to understand why it sucks.

IE sucks because it was made for a very old version of windows and has only been bandaged as the years when on, so there are many flaws and efficiency issues

I use Chrome for most browsing, but when I want to download videos I use RealDownloader - and the only browser I can get it to work on is IE.
