I followed too many people on twitter. Now I am banned from search results. How long does the ban last?

Hi,

From what I read and understand, there is no fixed timing to when your Twitter ban will be lifted. your account might be banned for any of the following reasons (not implying you actually did it):

- Impersonation, Trademark, Privacy, Violence and Threats, Copyright, Unlawful use, Verified accounts, serial accounts, name squatting, invitation spam, selling user names, malware/phishing, spam and/or pornography.

For a complete list and description of each violation visit the twitter rules (http://help.twitter.com/forums/26257/entries/18311).

When you get banned, there will be a red tag on top of your account. You want to click the link that says "suspended accounts". Inside there you'd be able to email twitter and state your reasons as to why you think they have wronged or banned you by mistake. From experience and if its genuine, apologise and politely ask them to reinstate; stating that you are purely using twitter to network (with friends and family) and tweet about your favourite topics.

A twitter professional will then be assigned to your account and will correspond with you. Do not bother asking them why your account is banned as you'd most probably get an automatd reply. If all goes ok your account should be unbanned in 7-10 working days.

Hope this helps

TK
