Look at what your competitors are doing, and then set your ad up similar, but with some things that you specialize in

make up a flier listing the services you offer (do you do windows? do you do laundry? do you have your own equpiment or do you need to use the customer's?) also list your rate.
also make up a business card to attach to your flier. people keep business cards not fliers. Think up a name for your business like: Kelly's Cleaning Service & open up an email address for your business. on your business card you will have your business name, your personal name, your phone number & your email address. post the fliers on community bulletin boards at the local public library, at local churches, some grocery stores have public bulletin boards. you can leave the fliers on the doors of people who aren't at home. I suggest you get a separate bank account for your money so you can keep your business funds separate from your personal funds. as to what you say in person: Hi, My name is Kelly & I'm a college student who runs a cleaning business on the side to earn money for school. Here is my contact information & a list of services I provide & I hope you'll keep me in mind if you need a regular cleaner or just someone to help out before or after a big event. something else to say just to change things up: Hello, my name is Kelly X with Kelly's Cleaning Service. Are you happy with your current cleaning service? and then go into your spiel about being a student working your way through college. |
