FACEBOOK Social Networking & Site Promotion?

"Thinking that one or more of the social networking sites FaceBook might a VALUABLE means of promoting one of my websites.
I have no experience with any of them and don't know which might be most effective or if any would make sense." pls help !

I go with Facebook and Twitter. Well, we have the same objective. I also promote here when i build web sites. facebook has 350 million active users worldwide and still increasing so it's a great investment if you promote in facebook.

Just open a Fan page for your site and tell your friend to join that page,
you can also give link of your site through ur status

are you willing to pay? if you are, Facebook allows for a great source, as you can create an ad with them and buy "Clicks" which means they will show it until the said number of clicks has been reached (then you gotta buy more clicks)

you can also create a fanpage and get all your friends to become a fan of it and then invite their friends. basically start the waterdrop affect

In the name of social networking Facebook 's always comes first.
Promoting a site or any business through Facebook is a best Idea, But To make a successful website traffic you need good quality incoming links, try linking to suppliers or other like your business friends and with groups...to promote your website and business/product you have to Join some groups. Make "friends" with similar businesses or people who would be likely to patron as your business...searching locally would be good. Blog and search out people. If you have friends
who already are on FB then add them as friends to get you up and going. I recommend you to just make a fan page and include there the pictures of your products. Wise choice if you go for facebook. I also promote there when I build web sites. You can ask facebook of the terms about advertising............
