how to move a domain from my old website to my new one?

Okay so i have an old website with a domain, but i want to move the domain from my old website to the new website that i have created, how would i do this?

You change the name server setting for the domain name at your registrar control panel. If the domain name was part of a hosting bundle, you will probably want to transfer the domain name to a different registrar like godaddy or namecheap, to sever any connections with the old hosting company, your host may only allow transfer after having the name for at least 6 months, many offer a discount for transferring a name.

Here are a few steps of moving a domain from old website to new one.

1. You need to just log in to register where your domain is
2. Get access to the domain name's administrative contact and email address
3. Make sure Private domain registration is off
4. Request your authorization code
5. Send the authorization code to the new register
6. Once you use the authorization code, an email will be sent to you asking you to confirm the terms and conditions.
7. Once you are done with the transfer plan, make sure you contact your previous host and cancel your plan.
