how to get more twitter followers?

facebook is dead and i just got a twitter. i feel kind of lame having only 55 followers. leave suggestions on how to get more followers, please & follow me? @sincerelyhnin
i realize that a lot of people still use facebook. i'm not trying to offend anyone either, i just don't use facebook much anymore and none of MY friends do either. so, i'm moving on to twitter & i basically just need followers - not an argument on here. [:

Just follow more and more. You will get back followers obviously. Also update your profile with a good portfolio or tweet informative things. I think your followers will be increased.

If you participate in a lot of hash tagging, ex: #example. People can search for that stuff and will most likely see that you tweeted something about what they're searching for, and they might follow you.

You can type any topic that you want in the trending topics search bar and find people talking about the same thing. Start a convo with them and then maybe they'll follow you.
