any ideas on how poeople can buy my items on ebay?
i am really LOW on money and i am an experienced artist and i draw my friends and family all the times since i am good at it. ONE of my friends told me that i should sell my drawings or portraits for the buyers and make money since im low on it. I THOUGHT IT WAS A GREAT IDEAA!! so since i had an ebay account, i decided to sell my drawings for $0.99 and free shipping but no body bought it. I WAS so sad that alll my items were unsold and i see other people with higher prices and people are buying!! it makes me mad so my question is if you guys have any ideas on how to help give me advices because i really need the money. now i have 0 items listed because they are all unsold. I will relist them if i know people will buy so any ideas?? my ebay user name is may62may and i just relisted my portrait drawings on the link below . if anyone knows people or ideas on people to buy them please tell me thanks and god bless Big Grin

First of all, you are listed in the wrong category. Your listing is under non-fiction books. It should be listed under Art->Direct From Artist->Drawings.

Ebay also allows you much more space in your title...use it all to add more key words to your description.

my answer is similar to sysasue answer. chose right category for your item. and if you are listing your items in .99 auction formate. make sure that how much you need to get for that item and how much bid is going on. and you are having some feed backs and feedback DSR rating is 100.. so that is good thing. you need to concentrate on category and as well as title and description...

Happy selling

So, do they just buy a single picture or do they also gain all rights to the image?

Your sketch is beautiful, firstly look at the eBayers that are selling similiar items with Success, and copy them almost exactly in their formatting, pricing etc.

1. Use keywords in the item title ie. "Custom Portrait Landscape Pencil Sketches 11" x 4" - Send me any Photo 24hr Turnaround"
2. Choose the correct Category
3. Put a proper price on it. $19.99 or similiar. Nobody will trust you for 99c.
4. Include more than 1 photo in the item, 5-6 examples of your best work.
5. Get yourself an online portfolio and link to it in your description
6. Improve your listing description. Explain exactly what they are getting as well as requirements, any questions you want them to answer in their message to you, and get rid of the ALLCAPS. Make it professional.

Good Luck.

Hi, even though I already gave the thumbs up for sysasue's answer, I still had to add some tips.

I went to the link you added above. First off the drawing is fantastic, and you are extremely talented. I wish I could draw like that.

As far as the posting though, my apologies, but to me it is confusing.

The way it is written, it is hard to tell if you are actually selling that particular drawing or if you are using it as an example to take custom orders for other personal sketches.

Also, another one of the answers is correct, as far as not using all capital letters. Online, all capital letters is termed as shouting, and also harder on the eyes to read.

You can also try to sell your custom made artwork on etsy.com, because it is a site intended more for handmade items.

Check out the link below to see how someone else set it up to place orders for their particular custom ordered/made items. You can also click the link on that page to read the feedback they got too.

Hope that helps, and best of luck!

First of all your drawing is fantastic and lifelike and you should go far

You are selling yourself short with your pricing- start it nearer to £4.99 or $10.99 and uneccessary to offer freepost - just chare the actual shipping if you must
Cheap prices= cheap items is the peception of some buyers

Make it VERY clear in the listing that they are not bidding on THAT picture, and make it very clear how they can send you a photo for you to copy
Make it clear what paper and media you use and the size they will get

BTW as mentioned you will do better on etsy.com as this site is more compatible than ebay for customised items from talented individuals like yourself
Cheaper to list also with a longer duration (20c for 3 months) and cheaper final value fees
