Why don't my old Facebook friends not talk to me?

I moved from Australia to canada 2 months ago after finishing university. Well before my college friends would like my profile pictures or write on my Facebook wall. But now that I live in a new country, they stopped doing this. I like their pics, but they won't reciprocate once I moved. Is this odd? I moved to canada permanently and won't be moving back to australia
