can somebody go to jail for stalking?
This might sound crazy but some boy dont know how he looks. I really dont know where in the world he got my kik. Dont know if its feom facebook, Twitter, or instagram. I made a new one of everything and made it to the point you had to ask for my kik and someone this crazy person got it again. This is the 3rd kik i made. I made it so i wouldn't have to give people my number because i cant block numbers on my phone. Dont wantto put him in jail inuntil he starts the actually kno where i live (even though the idiot says he knows whay im wearing which be completely wrong). Just want to threaren him due to my dad being a cop. The boy has problems i dont know if he is on my instagram, facebook, or Twitter. The picture he has on his kik match none of the people on the social networks i have.

It is something you should talk with your dad, especially if he is a police officer. It is better to be safe.

For stalking alone, no. For violating a restraining order, yes.

Go file that restraining order, they are easy to get and start an offical record. Hopefully this kid will back off when he realizes it's getting beyond trolling you.

yes its a crime. A person who stalks another by committing any of the following acts is guilty of a gross misdemeanor:
(1) directly or indirectly, or through third parties, manifests a purpose or intent to injure the person, property, or rights of another by the commission of an unlawful act;
(2) follows, monitors, or pursues another, whether in person or through any available technological or other means;
(3) returns to the property of another if the actor is without claim of right to the property or consent of one with authority to consent;
(4) repeatedly makes telephone calls, sends text messages, or induces a victim to make telephone calls to the actor, whether or not conversation ensues;
(5) makes or causes the telephone of another repeatedly or continuously to ring;
(6) repeatedly mails or delivers or causes the delivery by any means, including electronically, of letters, telegrams, messages, packages, through assistive devices for people with vision impairments or hearing loss, or any communication made through any available technologies or other objects;

Any law of this state which provides for a maximum fine of $700 as a penalty for a misdemeanor shall, on or after August 1, 2000, be deemed to provide for a maximum fine of $1,000.
