How do I tie my website, blog and facebook business page together?
I'm already paying for a website. I could put a blog on there, but will it bring more traffic to my site? Should I go with another blog site and perhaps have links to my website? I'm not sure what is the best way to get started blogging? Also, I have a facebook page for my business, how do I connect that to my website?

The blog might bring more traffic to your website if it offers useful or interesting content, which are pretty much the same reasons why people visit websites. A blog will give you a way to interact with visitors as well as show a more relatable and more personal aspect of your business through the blogger's opinions & experiences. It's also good way to provide quick (minor) updates and inform about work in progress without having to edit your website, hence presenting a dynamic image of your business. Therefore, a blog may not necessarily bring MORE traffic to your site but it will help increase the time visitors spend on your site and also increase the chances they'll visit again.
I'd recommend you put the blog on your site, since it will give you more control over the style and content and blog readers won't have to jump far to check out your site. However, if you lack the technical or creative expertise to design a blog from scratch then a blogging platform such as Blogger is a good way to quickly set up a blog and start interacting with the users already there, increasing the chance they will click through to your website to find out more about you. To connect your Facebook page to your website, simply add the link to your website in the info section. It would help if you gave it some publicity though, by adding a few lines to the page's headline/welcome section, or creating a topic in the discussion board. Ads |
